Affiliated Computer Services' credit ratings raised after Xerox acquisition

The credit ratings of Affiliated Computer Services Inc. were raised to investment grade from junk Tuesday following the company's acquisition by Xerox Corp. Fitch Ratings raised its issuer default rating for ACS to "BBB" from "BB" and two tranches of senior notes worth $500 million to "BBB" from "BB-."

Xerox Corp. announced today it had closed on its takeover of the Dallas-based business process outsourcing company. Shareholders of both Xerox and ACS on Friday approved the $6.4 billion purchase. With the move, Xerox - one of the Rochester area's largest employers - now has a much bigger footprint in that outsourcing industry.
